Nelson Recycling Centre is a branch of the Nelson Environment Centre a non profit incorporated society. The aim of the Nelson Recycling Centre is to intercept resources otherwise on route to landfill, thereby lowering the pollution and entropy burden payable by future generations. NRC operate two re-use shops, a public drop off area for recyclables and a materials processing centre, sorting the recyclables from Nelsons domestic kerbside collection. NRC provide easte education services for Nelson City Council, Tasman District Council schools, Business, Community as well as administration support for environmental groups, Brook St wildlife sanctuary project, Resource library. NRC also provided assistance with submission on resource consent applications, council plans, policies
